“Carragher accuses Salah of sabotage”

An enraged Jamie Carragher has accused Mo Salah of attempting to have Arne Slot fired and condemned his actions as unacceptable, just two days after the Liverpool star criticized him in a candid interview. Salah, aged 33, caused a stir at Anfield by expressing his frustrations following Liverpool’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Leeds United on Saturday.

Throughout the match, Salah remained on the bench, a position he has occupied in Liverpool’s last three matches. His absence has been conspicuous as Slot seeks to address their ongoing struggles this season.

In a lengthy discussion with reporters, Salah argued against the need to compete for a spot in Liverpool’s starting lineup and asserted that his relationship with Slot has deteriorated. He accused the club of undermining him and suggested that certain individuals are pushing for his departure.

Salah also directed criticism at Carragher, who had previously questioned his silence amid Liverpool’s difficulties and even remarked that Salah’s performance has declined.

Responding to the situation, Carragher expressed his disappointment with Salah’s post-match behavior, alleging that Salah strategically uses public appearances to his advantage. He accused Salah of timing his outburst to exploit Liverpool’s recent poor results and undermine Slot’s position.

Slot also addressed the issue during a press conference in Milan, stating that he informed Salah of his exclusion from the squad for the Champions League match against Inter Milan. Slot emphasized that while he disagrees with Salah’s perception of their relationship breakdown, he respects Salah’s feelings.

Salah believes he is being scapegoated as Liverpool’s title defense falters, with disappointing results in various competitions. Despite the turmoil, Salah reiterated his commitment to the club and his desire for respect based on his contributions.

Salah is set to join the Egypt national team for the Africa Cup of Nations after Liverpool’s upcoming match against Brighton.
