Noel Clarke, famous for his role in the science fiction series “Doctor Who,” has been formally accused of six sexual offenses, including two counts of sexual assault, as announced by England and Wales’ Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Wednesday. The 50-year-old British actor and filmmaker gained prominence for his portrayal of Mickey Smith on the BBC show from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, he is facing one charge of exposure and three charges of voyeurism. In legal terms, voyeurism involves observing or recording someone engaging in a private act without their consent, often for sexual satisfaction.
The CPS stated that the alleged incidents involving Clarke occurred between 2007 and 2016 and are based on complaints lodged by five women. These charges follow a report by the Guardian five years ago, which detailed allegations of sexual harassment, groping, and bullying leveled against Clarke by 20 women, some of whom claimed they were subjected to inappropriate behavior on the set of “Doctor Who.” Clarke vehemently refuted these accusations.
According to the Guardian, the recent charges emerged after an investigation that commenced in September 2025. Clarke is scheduled to appear in Westminster Magistrates Court on October 21. Apart from his role on “Doctor Who,” Clarke is recognized for his work in creating and starring in the trilogy of teen crime dramas: “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), which explore themes of substance abuse, bullying, and street violence in London. He directed “Adulthood” and helmed both directed and produced “Brotherhood.” His acting credits also include roles in “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the TV series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
