British boxer Anthony Joshua is set to face off against relatively unknown fighter Kristian Prenga on July 25 before a highly anticipated bout with his longtime rival, Tyson Fury.
Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion, has been out of action since his dominant victory over Jake Paul in December. Initially scheduled to return to the ring in March, Joshua’s plans were derailed by a tragic car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of his close friends Kevin Ayodele and Sina Ghami.
After taking time to recover from the harrowing incident, the 36-year-old has been spotted training with Oleksandr Usyk and recently made appearances at boxing events, showing his support for fellow fighters. Following Fury’s recent victory, the Gypsy King called for a matchup with Joshua, who initially declined.
However, Joshua has now agreed to terms for a showdown with Fury in November, contingent on his victory against Prenga in Saudi Arabia. Expressing his excitement for the upcoming fights, Joshua stated, “I’m delighted to have agreed a multi-fight deal starting with July 25 in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I’m looking forward to competing and picking up where I left off.”
Prenga, an Albanian heavyweight with an impressive knockout record, is confident in his abilities and is determined to surprise the world by defeating Joshua in their upcoming bout. Both fighters are gearing up for what promises to be a thrilling match in July.
