Luke Littler was overwhelmed with emotion as he shed tears following his victory in the 2026 Premier League Darts final against Luke Humphries at the O2 Arena. The 19-year-old Littler clinched his second Premier League Darts title with a narrow 11-10 win over Humphries. In a post-match interview, Littler disclosed that he had contemplated quitting the sport, citing a turbulent journey to success.
Reflecting on his challenging start in the competition, Littler shared, “It was a rollercoaster first four weeks, bottom of the table, but then the fifth night I won my first night. I had to pick myself up, some tough times. I think I had a 79 average in Brighton or something like that and it was tough. But I am here with the trophy.”
Sky has recently enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle by adding HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, and Hayu to its offerings, along with 135 channels and comprehensive coverage of the Premier League and EFL. The broadcaster airs over 1,400 live matches across various sports leagues, including at least 215 live Premier League matches, Formula 1, darts, and golf.
Following his victory, Littler was visibly moved to tears before being comforted by Humphries. Recounting moments of doubt, Littler admitted, “After Brighton and the incident in Manchester, I was sat at home saying to Faith: ‘I don’t want to do it anymore, just the crowd every week.’ I said to her ‘I’m down bad’.”
The incident involving Gian van Veen, the World Championships runner-up, added to the tension of the competition. Humphries offered insights into Littler’s emotional reaction, emphasizing the significance of the final and the dedication required from players over the course of the demanding competition.
Humphries remarked, “It is emotional, you have seen it from Luke there. You are playing in big finals and it shows how much it means to us as players. You are on the road for 16 or 17 weeks and I don’t get the chance to take my family with me. You want that trophy in your hands. It was a great final, one of the best the Premier League has seen. I am proud that I made it a tough game.”
