A wealthy Russian builder has been taken into custody following a severe head injury suffered by a model, leading to urgent brain surgery. Dmitry Kuzmin, aged 42, faces charges of causing “significant physical harm” to Anzhelika Tartanova, 33, as she attempted to terminate a six-month romance with the “domineering and possessive” businessman. Tartanova’s relatives disclosed that Kuzmin had prohibited her from meeting her 16-year-old son and sister prior to an alleged assault that left her on the brink of death.
Close acquaintances of Ms. Tartanova revealed that Kuzmin would lavish her with presents and treat her as if she were a toy, but prevented her from engaging with her loved ones. It is asserted that the mother was physically assaulted after expressing her desire to end the relationship with Kuzmin.
Initially reported missing on November 28 by concerned friends, Tartanova was eventually discovered on December 9 at a hospital in Moscow, where she spent a fortnight in intensive care and remains in a critical state. Kuzmin is alleged to have thrown her onto the street with severe head injuries before a passerby intervened and called for medical assistance. Subsequently, the businessman purportedly messaged her friends from her phone for the following week, falsely assuring them that she was fine. He was seen in court confinement as he was apprehended pending further inquiries.
Tartanova continues to fight for her life at Pirogov Hospital in Moscow after undergoing urgent craniotomy neurosurgery. Although conscious, she struggles to communicate verbally.
Lying in the Moscow hospital for several days, Tartanova was severely injured, swollen, and drifting in and out of consciousness before managing to whisper her name to medical professionals. During the search for her, law enforcement discovered her diary containing entries detailing her tumultuous romance with a boyfriend, where she described herself as “the most beautiful and sexiest girl on planet Earth” and emphasized her lover’s dependence on her.
According to REN TV, the model informed medical staff that she was assaulted on November 23 by an acquaintance in an apartment on Universitetsky Prospekt. She is known as an actress, model, and former owner of a tanning salon who had recently relocated to Moscow post-divorce.
