A mother in mourning shared a harrowing experience lasting only 30 seconds when the family dog unexpectedly attacked and fatally injured a British toddler.
Two-year-old Leon Dulia tragically lost his life after a routine shopping trip with his parents, Robbie Deeth, 32, and Loukas, on the Greek island of Zakynthos. Originally from Andover, Hampshire, the family had been living on the island for several years and had been enjoying their outing when the tragic incident occurred. While his parents were unpacking groceries inside, Leon ventured outside to pet the dog in the garden.
Robbie, heartbroken by the incident, described the attack as lasting “less than 30 seconds,” attributing it to nearby hunters in the woods who startled the pitbull with gunshots and whistles. She fondly remembered Leon as an exceptionally sweet child, stating he was a dream child for any mother.
The grieving mother explained that the dog had never shown aggression before. She expressed to the Daily Mail that the dog had always been gentle, allowing Leon to interact with him affectionately. Robbie recounted how the situation quickly escalated when Leon went to see the dog while his parents were briefly occupied with household chores, resulting in the tragic outcome.
