Following a day-long search, Sudbury authorities report the discovery of a 26-year-old man deceased in Crowley Lake after his canoe overturned. The Greater Sudbury Police Service revealed that firefighters, paramedics, and police officers were called to the lake on Thursday afternoon, just past 3:45 p.m. The man was located around 3 p.m. the following day.
To respect the family’s privacy, the police have chosen not to disclose the man’s identity. Upon receiving information that a canoe carrying three individuals had overturned in the lake, two individuals were safely rescued by kayakers. Law enforcement conducted a search of the vicinity on foot with the K-9 unit and from overhead using a drone and an Ontario Provincial Police helicopter.
