A fortunate individual has secured a £17 million win in the recent EuroMillions draw held on Friday, with the winning ticket purchased in Ireland. The National Lottery of Ireland has verified that the substantial prize was claimed by a participant in Ireland, with only one individual matching the correct numbers. This victory follows an earlier record-breaking win by an Irish ticket holder in the EuroMillions jackpot.
The winning numbers drawn were 7, 25, 30, 37, 41, along with lucky stars 5 and 11. Tickets, priced at £2.50, can be purchased until 7.30 pm on draw nights. Even if the jackpot is not won, there are still significant prizes for matching one or more numbers. Additionally, one lucky person is guaranteed to win £1,000,000 through the Millionaire Maker game, with all ticket holders automatically entered into this draw.
In a recent Tuesday draw, a single fortunate EuroMillions winner secured an astounding £125 million. Seven ticket holders managed to clinch the second prize by matching all five main numbers plus one Life Ball, sharing a total prize of £372,679, resulting in each receiving £74,535.80.
The largest EuroMillions win to date occurred in June when a lucky individual in Cork, Ireland, bagged a staggering €250 million (£215m). A spokesperson from the National Lottery stated that the winner is being given time to process this life-changing victory.
The most substantial EuroMillions prize was awarded to the 18th Irish jackpot winner. Previously, in February 2022, an individual from Ireland won €30.9 million with a quick pick ticket purchased at a service station in Ballina, Co Tipperary.
As per the National Lottery’s regulations, the EuroMillions Jackpot cannot exceed €250 million. Should the jackpot reach this limit, it will remain at that amount. Any prize money that would have pushed the jackpot beyond the cap will roll down to the next prize category in the draw where there is at least one winner, increasing prizes in that lower category.
