Former Hospital Doctor Faces 45 Sexual Offense Charges

A 38-year-old former hospital doctor, Nathaniel John Spencer, faces 45 sexual offense charges, including acts against children. Spencer previously worked at Royal Stoke University Hospital and Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley. The charges stem from an extensive investigation called Operation Anzu conducted by Staffordshire Police.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court next year as reported by StokeonTrentLive. A spokesperson from Staffordshire Police disclosed that Spencer, a British national, has been charged with 15 counts of sexual assault, 17 counts of assault by penetration, nine counts of sexual assault involving a child under 13, three counts of assaulting a child under 13 by penetration, and one count of attempted assault by penetration.

The charges result from a thorough investigation by the public protection unit into sexual offenses at the two hospitals. The accused is expected to face trial at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on January 20.
