Superdrug has announced intentions to launch 30 new outlets in the current year, leading to the creation of approximately 600 new positions. Among the upcoming locations in England are White Rose Leeds, Crawley, Waterlooville Retail Park, Newport Retail Park, and Isle of Wight.
In addition to the English sites, Superdrug is set to open new stores in Scotland, including Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, Kilmarnock Retail Park, East Kilbride, Strathkelvin Retail Park, and Linwood Phoenix Retail Park, as well as Cwmbran Retail Park in Wales.
The new stores will feature Superdrug Beauty Studios offering services like ear piercing, manicures, and eyebrow threading.
Furthermore, Superdrug plans to complete 60 store refurbishments over the course of the year. The health and beauty retailer currently operates over 780 stores in the UK and Ireland.
Superdrug executives cited robust customer demand as the driving force behind the expansion plans. The company intends to focus its investments on large-format destination stores and retail park locations.
Clare Jennings, Superdrug’s property director, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing enhanced retail experiences for customers. By adding 30 new stores, Superdrug aims to offer a diverse range of beauty, healthcare, and affordable treatments in welcoming community spaces while generating numerous job opportunities.
