“Fury vs Joshua: Heavyweight Showdown Confirmed for Netflix”

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have reportedly reached an agreement to face off in an anticipated heavyweight battle, with key details now unveiled.

Initially, news surfaced in December hinting at their intention to settle their ongoing rivalry in a ring showdown in 2026. However, shortly after Anthony Joshua’s victory over Jake Paul during the recent Christmas period, he was unfortunately involved in a fatal car accident in Nigeria, resulting in the tragic loss of his close companions Sina Ghami and Lateef ‘Latz’ Ayodele.

Despite concerns that Joshua might not return to the ring following the life-threatening incident, the former two-time heavyweight champion is now back in light training, contemplating a potential comeback this summer. Speculations suggest a potential matchup with former foe Dillian Whyte before a showdown with Fury.

Renowned boxing journalist Gareth A Davies disclosed that both Fury and Joshua have officially agreed to meet in the ring. Davies shared on talkSPORT that the fight is already “signed” and “agreed.” He confidently stated, “The Fury-Joshua fight is signed; it is signed in the background. I’ve got that on good authority.”

Moreover, Davies hinted that the anticipated bout could be aired on Netflix, likely taking place either “late in the year” or “next year,” with Joshua possibly returning to action in “June or July.” He emphasized, “It’s with the big money people. It’ll be on Netflix. It’s on the cards and it’s going to happen.”

Netflix is set to broadcast Fury’s comeback on April 11. The ‘Gypsy King’ shocked fans last year by announcing his retirement but later reversed the decision. He is slated to face the formidable Russian fighter Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Netflix has established itself as a significant player in boxing, showcasing notable matchups like Paul vs Joshua, Alvarez vs Crawford, Taylor vs Serrano, and Paul vs Mike Tyson.

Joshua is progressing towards full training as he eyes a potential return to the boxing ring later this year. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, expressed optimism about a potential Fury vs Joshua battle despite recent challenges, stating, “We are open to the Tyson Fury fight but more likely at the end of the year or early in 2027.”
