An incident involving a knife attack has left an eight-year-old child critically injured and three others seriously hurt, prompting a significant police search for the perpetrator.
The eight-year-old, who sustained severe injuries in the assault in Germany, endured “15 to 20 cuts and stab wounds across the body and head,” raising concerns of life-threatening conditions, as per wa.de.
Authorities have shared images of a 20-year-old man they wish to interview regarding the attack, during which the mother of the children also suffered severe injuries.
A spokesperson from the Dortmund public prosecutor’s office advised against direct contact with the individual, stating, “If spotted, contact the police immediately at 110, as there is a possibility he may be armed.”
The attack reportedly occurred in an apartment on Zentrumstraße in Bergkamen-Weddinghofen, near Dortmund, where a 26-year-old female resident and her four children, aged three to eight, were wounded by stabbings and cuts. The suspect, identified by the police, fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Described as 1.85 meters tall, slim, dressed in dark attire, with a white hat, glasses, and a “three-day beard,” the perpetrator remains at large.
