“Fire Breaks Out at Maam Cross Train Station in Ireland”

A significant fire has erupted at a train station, prompting fire crews to quickly respond to the scene.

Videos capturing the intense flames engulfing the signal cabin at Maam Cross train station in Co Galway, Ireland, have surfaced, showing multiple fire teams working to control the blaze.

According to Galway Beo, the fire caused all the windows of the building to shatter. An eyewitness expressed dismay, stating, “So I went to Maam Cross to photograph the train and this happened. What a terrible tragedy after all the great work by the organisers to get it going.” Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries, as per the Irish Mirror.

Situated at the intersection of the N59 and R336 roads, Maam Cross houses the Connemara Railway, a heritage railway line. The Connemara Railway website announced, “Following a serious incident involving our signal cabin, the railway will be closed on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December.”
