“16 Dead in Bondi Beach Attack: Suspected ISIS Link”

The aftermath of the tragic incident at Bondi Beach continues to resonate globally this week, with additional victims being identified as Australia deals with the aftermath of the anti-Semitic attack.

The perpetrators of the attack have been named as father and son Sajid and Naveed Akram, aged 50 and 24, who carried out the assault during a Hanukkah celebration, resulting in the deaths of 16 individuals and injuring many others, some critically. Australian authorities suspect the attack may have been inspired by ISIS.

Authorities are looking into a recent trip the Akram pair took to the Philippines, as confirmed by authorities in Manila. New South Wales Police have discovered improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and two homemade ISIS flags in a vehicle registered to Naveed Akram, which was found at the scene of the attack.

Naveed Akram, who was critically injured during a police confrontation that led to the death of his father, has now regained consciousness and is cooperating with authorities. He is expected to face serious charges related to the shooting, with police indicating that no other individuals are believed to have been involved.

As investigations continue, families are mourning the loss of the victims. Among those identified are Rabbi Eli Schlanger, retired police officer Reuven Morrison, 10-year-old Matilda Poltavchenko, Tibor Weitzen, Alex Kleytman, French national Dan Elkayam, Peter Meagher, Rabbi Yaakov Levitin, and Marika Pogany. Heartfelt tributes have been pouring in for these individuals, recalling their lives and the tragic circumstances of their deaths.
