The attack took place during a Jewish festival, where a British Rabbi and a 10-year-old girl were caught in the gunfire. Police have labeled the incident as a terrorist attack and confirmed the death of a 50-year-old gunman. Explosive devices linked to the deceased gunman were also discovered at the scene.
One of the Bondi Rescue veterans, Jackson Doolan, shared a social media update, recounting how he and his fellow lifeguards rushed to the scene to assist the shooting victims. Doolan expressed gratitude towards everyone who responded to the crisis. NSW Police confirmed the arrest of two individuals, including Naveed Akram, 24, and his 50-year-old father, who were identified as the attackers.
