Marianne Quirion and Frédérique Morneau also contributed with two touchdown catches each in the Brazil game.
On the men’s side, Canada dominated Austria with a 26-6 win, led by quarterback Michael O’Connor’s impressive performance. The stakes are high at the championship as teams vie for spots in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, with the top two finishers securing Olympic berths.
Both Canadian teams will face Japan next to wrap up the group stage. The women’s team will play at 4:30 a.m. ET, followed by the men’s team at 2 a.m. ET.
