“Co-op Enhances Online Shopping Experience for Members”

Co-op has introduced a significant update for its numerous online shopping loyalty members. Customers who are Co-op members can now benefit from their personalized weekly offers when making online purchases, leading to potential savings of over £80 annually. Previously, these offers were exclusively available in physical stores.

Furthermore, Co-op has enhanced its online platform to allow members to redeem any monetary value added to their membership cards online, including game prizes and bonus offers. However, these personalized offers are only applicable when shopping through shop.coop directly, not through third-party delivery apps like Deliveroo or Just Eat.

Last year, Co-op expanded its range of personalized offers by 67%, offering over 700 deals to its members, including popular brands such as Huel, Pop Chips, Actimel, Pilgrams Choice, and Vimto. In addition, Co-op has extended its member price savings to shoppers using Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Co-op’s own online store.

Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, highlighted the importance of delivering value to its members online, with 88% of online shoppers being Co-op members. This initiative aligns with Co-op’s goal of growing its membership base to eight million by 2030.

Co-op currently boasts approximately seven million members, with a £1 joining fee. The company recently announced plans to open 18 new or upgraded stores in the first quarter of 2026. The first new store opened in Willowbrook Park, Didcot, with additional stores set to reopen after renovations in locations like Eastern Green, Coventry, and Ealing, London.

Moreover, Co-op has committed £70 million through its Levy Share service to create 7,000 matched apprenticeships by 2030, offering opportunities for skill development and employment. This initiative allows levy-paying employers to transfer unused apprenticeship levy funds to support apprenticeships in various sectors, benefiting communities and the care industry.

The apprenticeship scheme, which has matched over 3,800 apprenticeships in the past four years, focuses on providing opportunities in deprived communities and the care sector. Co-op’s dedication to supporting education and employment aligns with its mission to foster growth and development within its workforce and the broader community.
