Conor McGregor has expressed his approval for the UFC’s upcoming White House event, even though he is not scheduled to compete in it. Initially rumored to headline a match against Michael Chandler on President Donald Trump’s property on June 14, McGregor is now expected to fight the following month. UFC CEO Dana White unveiled the White House fight card, featuring Ilia Topuria defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje as the main event.
In a surprising move, Alex Pereira will move up to the heavyweight division to challenge Ciryl Gane for the interim belt in the co-main event. McGregor shared his enthusiasm for the card on social media, stating “love it,” despite his absence from the lineup. He later praised the event, referring to it as “a great card.”
McGregor recently disclosed that he is still awaiting confirmation of his next fight. He mentioned his willingness to face Chandler and his disappointment at the change in plans, expressing understanding and readiness to return to the octagon. Additionally, McGregor revealed his intention to make a comeback in the welterweight division, emphasizing his eagerness to get back into competition and his manager’s ongoing negotiations for his next bout.
