“Tesco Pharmacies: Your Convenient Health Hub”

When it comes to maintaining our well-being, we often require additional guidance and assistance. With over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK, catering to over half a million customers weekly, Tesco is readily available to offer support. Tesco’s pharmacies make it convenient for customers to pick up prescriptions, utilize their wide range of healthcare services, and consult with experienced pharmacists while doing their regular shopping.

Many individuals find it challenging to prioritize essential health check-ups amidst their hectic schedules. Seeking answers to health concerns online can sometimes lead to more stress than comfort when time is limited. “This is why we provide prompt and hassle-free pharmacy services, health advice, and health and wellness products in our pharmacies for customers to access while shopping,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations and various vaccines to services for weight management, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies offer comprehensive support and guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.

In addition to prescribing treatments for common ailments such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs, pharmacists can also save time through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

For individuals dealing with long-term health issues, Tesco Pharmacists have undergone specialized training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to provide information, support, and raise awareness about reducing the risks of cancer, heart diseases, circulatory disorders, and type 2 diabetes. “When shopping at Tesco, simply approach the pharmacy counter and ask to speak with the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge,” suggests Tom.

“Our pharmacy teams are available to conduct quick and friendly walk-in blood pressure checks for customers concerned about their heart health – no appointment necessary,” Tom continues. “A brief visit to the store can offer peace of mind or prompt support if required.”

Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 free blood pressure tests for customers this year alone, showcasing the significant impact of this valuable service.

The benefits of in-store pharmacy services extend beyond customers to Tesco colleagues. “Tesco employees can also leverage the convenience of services provided through our pharmacies and other health offerings,” Tom notes. “All colleagues have access to virtual GP appointments and additional assistance on areas like sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
