Two individuals have been apprehended following a firearm discharge incident at a residence in Greater Manchester, as confirmed by the police.
Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to an address on Wally Square in Salford at approximately 6:50 pm on December 4. According to Greater Manchester Police, it is believed that a man approached the property and discharged the firearm after arriving on an electric bike accompanied by another individual.
During the event, a woman in her twenties sustained a minor injury, as disclosed by the authorities. The Greater Manchester Police has detained two men, aged 24 and 28, on suspicion of possessing a firearm with the intent to endanger lives.
Both individuals are currently in custody for interrogation, while investigative efforts are ongoing. Police have assured that there is no perceived broader risk to the community. Authorities are now urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
A statement from GMP stated, “Following reports of a firearms discharge in Salford earlier this week, two arrests have been made. On Thursday, December 4, around 6:50 pm, we responded to reports of a firearm discharge at a property on Wally Square, Salford.”
“Emergency services promptly arrived, leading to the arrests of two suspects, aged 24 and 28, on suspicion of possessing a firearm with the intent to endanger lives. They are being held for questioning, and investigations are ongoing. There is no perceived broader threat to the community.”
Detective Inspector Louise Edwards, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, expressed, “Any report involving a firearm discharge is alarming and completely unacceptable in Greater Manchester.”
