Alberta Storm Alert Lifted, Watch Continues

Environment Canada has lifted a yellow alert for severe weather following a storm that swept through parts of southern Alberta on Tuesday evening. The agency warned of potential damaging wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rainfall as the storm progressed from Claresholm towards areas near Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.

The initial warning, issued earlier on Tuesday afternoon, highlighted the risk of a severe thunderstorm capable of generating baseball-sized hail and causing damage to buildings and trees. Despite the alert being lifted, a yellow watch for severe thunderstorms remains in effect for a significant portion of the region stretching from Claresholm to Hays and extending south towards the U.S. border as of Tuesday night.
