“Freeview Revamps TV Guide: Talk Channel Removed”

Freeview is undergoing changes as the TV service has recently revamped its TV guide, including repositioning and renaming some channels. Notably, one channel, Talk (Ch 280), will no longer be accessible on Freeview. Talk, a British news channel known for its focus on debate, opinion-led journalism, and politics, featuring presenters like Jeremy Kyle, Mark Dolan, and Kevin O’Sullivan, launched in 2022. Users interested in watching Talk can now access the service through the official Talk app or other platforms such as Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.

Additionally, Freeview’s latest update reveals that Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 will now be known simply as Wedotv. Moreover, three services are relocating on the planner. Ketchup TV, Ketchup Too, and Cartoon Classics aimed at kids will be moving to new channel slots. For instance, Ketchup TV will shift from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics from Ch 214 to Ch 210.

Freeview stated, “On 25th June 2026, some broadcasters will be modifying their channels.” Channels on Freeview are continually evolving, with individual channels deciding to relocate, add, or remove channels to ensure diverse content for audiences. To ensure that your TV includes all the correct channels, it is essential to go to the settings and retune your TV. Freeview recommends retuning to update your TV and keep your channels and TV Guide up-to-date.

To retune your TV:
– Press the menu button on your box or TV remote control.
– Choose ‘set-up,’ ‘installation,’ ‘update,’ or a similar option. If prompted for a password, the default code is ‘1234’ or ‘0000.’
– Select ‘first-time installation’ (sometimes referred to as ‘factory reset,’ ‘full retune,’ or ‘default settings’).
– Confirm to delete existing channels if prompted and let the retune process start automatically. Save any found channels if required.
