Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently married Allison Hsu, a music industry executive. The couple exchanged vows over the weekend, as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News on Tuesday. Reports of their wedding in France were first brought to light by TMZ.
Having started their relationship officially in late 2022, Liu and Hsu publicly announced their engagement via social media during a trip to Paris in May 2025. Subsequently, Hsu shared glimpses of their wedding-related events in Mexico and a summer visit to Paris on her Instagram account.
The couple has been transparent about their courtship, frequently posting about each other on social media platforms. Liu has also discussed their relationship in various interviews, expressing feelings of support and love towards each other.
Originally from China and raised in Toronto, Liu is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.” His portrayal of the Chinese superhero has propelled him to international acclaim, following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience,” where he played Jung Kim, the estranged son of the central family.
Aside from his Marvel role, Liu has been involved in various projects, such as his role as Ken in the popular movie “Barbie,” voice acting in “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test.” He also returned to his theater roots with a performance in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year, marking his Broadway debut.
