Human skeletal remains believed to be those of an individual were found in a tent by a member of the public in East Yorkshire. The discovery, made in an alley near Melwood Grove in Hull at approximately 8:15 pm on December 11, has prompted a police presence at the scene.
According to Humberside Police, the passerby alerted authorities to the grim discovery. While initial investigations suggest the remains are from a single person, further inquiries are underway.
Authorities have confirmed an increased police presence will be maintained in the area throughout the weekend and into the following week. A spokesperson for the police stated that a scene guard has been established following the finding of the suspected human skeletal remains.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Robinson, overseeing the investigation, acknowledged the community’s likely concerns and assured the public of ongoing efforts by specialized forensic officers to determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
