A 22-year-old individual faces charges in connection with the killing of a university student described as a well-liked individual, who was fatally stabbed during an altercation while out with his soccer teammates.
The victim, Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old from Chafford Hundred, Essex, sustained fatal injuries, including a chest puncture and two leg wounds, in an incident on Belmont Road in Southampton. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Hampshire Constabulary has disclosed that Vickrum Digwa, a British individual of Asian descent residing on St Denys Road, Southampton, has been formally accused of murder and possession of a bladed weapon in a public setting.
Additionally, Kiran Kaur, a 52-year-old person of Indian and Asian heritage also residing on St Denys Road, Southampton, faces charges of aiding an offender. Both are scheduled to appear before Southampton Magistrates’ Court on December 8.
A 51-year-old man previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been granted police bail pending further investigation.
Moreover, a 26-year-old male initially detained on suspicion of murder has been released without charges for that offense but was subsequently arrested for aiding an offender and a public order violation. He is also on police bail as inquiries continue.
The family of the deceased student, Henry Nowak, expressed their grief in a statement released through the police, describing him as a kind, intelligent, and talented individual who was excelling in his studies and actively participating in university life.
