Emergency responders extracted a woman from a vehicle and swiftly transported her to a hospital following a severe collision in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. The incident, described as a “major road traffic collision,” occurred at the junction of Bolton Road and Eskdale Avenue around 8:30 pm, involving two cars. Four individuals sustained injuries and received on-site treatment.
Following the collision, road closures were put in place, but the affected area has since reopened according to an AA map. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service handed over the incident to Greater Manchester Police for further investigation.
In a separate incident in north Manchester, a 61-year-old man named Jason Parr tragically lost his life after his e-bike collided with two pedestrians on Rochdale Road in Blackley. While Jason succumbed to his injuries at the scene, the pedestrians suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Jason’s daughter, Samantha, expressed profound grief over the loss of her father, describing him as a unique individual cherished for his humor and ability to bring laughter to others. She emphasized the irreplaceable void left by his sudden departure, stating that his memory would endure forever.
Motorists are advised to steer clear of the vicinity near Bolton Road and Eskdale Avenue due to ongoing road closures. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed their response to the incident, which involved using specialized equipment to extricate the woman from the vehicle. The affected area was secured before being turned over to the police.
