A tragic incident occurred in a city center where a man lost his life after falling from a 13-story building.
Northumbria Police confirmed that the man, aged in his 30s, fell from the rooftop of the Echo Building in Sunderland on Saturday afternoon as reported by ChronicleLive.
According to a spokesperson from the police force, they received a report of a man in his 30s on the roof of a building in the Wear Street area of Sunderland around 2:40 pm on Saturday (December 6). Despite the efforts of emergency services, the man tragically fell from the building and passed away. No external involvement is suspected in the incident.
The man’s relatives have been notified, and the coroner has been informed of the incident.
Responding to the scene, the North East Ambulance Service deployed personnel. A spokesperson mentioned, “We were alerted to an incident on West Wear Street, Sunderland, shortly before 3 pm on December 6. We dispatched an ambulance with a full crew and a vehicle from our Hazardous Area Response Team.”
