Reports indicate that an officer from the police force sustained injuries during the Bondi Beach terror incident and may face potential loss of vision in one eye.
Jack Hibbert, a Probationary Constable, is currently hospitalized following surgical procedures on his shoulder and eye. He and Senior Constable Scott Dyson were the two officers hurt while intervening in a shooting incident, allegedly involving Sajid Akram, aged 50, and his son Naveed, aged 24, during a Hanukkah event on Sunday evening. Constable Dyson’s condition is described as serious but stable as he also receives medical care. The tragic event resulted in the deaths of sixteen individuals, including the attacker Sajid and a 10-year-old girl, while twenty-two others, including the two officers, are still receiving treatment. Nine of the injured individuals are in critical or critical but stable condition.
