Newly released images show a student running along a street moments before he disappeared, prompting a plea from law enforcement for relevant information.
Aryan Sharma, aged 20, was last sighted in the early hours of November 23 on the outskirts of Loughborough, Leicestershire, around 12:30 am. He departed from his residence at approximately 9:30 pm and was last observed heading towards Stanford-on-the-Soar before he went missing.
Authorities from Leicestershire Police have stated, “Efforts continue to locate Aryan Sharma, the missing Loughborough student, and they are seeking to communicate with anyone who may possess information.”
“The 20-year-old was captured on CCTV on Meadow Lane, on the outskirts of Loughborough, at 12:30 am on Saturday, November 22. He was seen walking towards the Stanford on the Soar district, having been in the town center a few hours prior.
“Extensive inquiries have been conducted to trace Aryan’s movements that night, but authorities are interested in hearing from any drivers or pedestrians who may have observed him walking along Meadow Lane, Stanford Lane, or the surrounding vicinity between 12:15 am and 2:00 am on Saturday morning.
“The investigative team urges drivers to review their dashcam recordings during this time.”
Detective Inspector Jonathan Dickens mentioned, “We are reconstructing Ayran’s movements from the time he left his student lodging in the Woodgate area of Loughborough at 9:20 pm on Friday night until he was last observed at 12:30 am on Meadow Lane, moving away from the town center.
“Additional eyewitness sightings, dash camera footage, and CCTV footage are crucial to advancing our investigations.
“Did you witness a man resembling Aryan’s description, wearing a lengthy black trench coat, walking along the road in the early hours? Did you witness or record anything that could aid us in determining his subsequent whereabouts?”
The police statement added, “Significant police resources have been mobilized to support the missing person inquiry – including trained search personnel, the police drone, K-9 units, police divers, the National Police Air Service (NPAS), and specialized volunteers from Leicestershire Search and Rescue (SAR).
“In addition to the search operations, officers and detectives have been scrutinizing hours of CCTV footage, examining phone data, and collecting crucial details from witnesses who have already come forward.
“Aryan is described as Asian, 5 feet 5 inches tall, slim, with black hair at collar length. He was last seen donning a black trench coat, shorts, and black sneakers with white accents.” Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Leicestershire police on 101, citing incident 208 of November 23.
