Dolly Parton’s Nephew in Legal Battle

Bryan Seaver, the nephew of Dolly Parton and her long-serving security chief, is currently entangled in a public legal dispute with the company overseeing her estate. The core issue of the conflict seems to revolve around monetary matters.

According to estimates by Forbes, Dolly Parton, whose passing due to cancer was announced on August 25, had a net worth of $450 million US. Despite not having children, Parton had a sizable family, including 11 siblings, six of whom are still alive, at least 12 nephews and nieces, and several great-nephews and -nieces, as reported by People magazine.

The management entity responsible for safeguarding Parton’s estate is named She’s Alive, LLC, and is under the direction of her longtime manager, Danny Nozell. The estate has taken legal action against Seaver, the family member chosen by Parton to announce her passing, and has also obtained a restraining order against him.

Seaver was terminated from his security role at Dolly Parton’s properties, including Dollywood, and was directed to vacate the premises immediately. The termination letter, as per TMZ, stated that the decision was made to protect the Trust and beneficiaries, emphasizing that Seaver’s personal stake in the estate remains intact.

A lawsuit and temporary restraining order have been filed against Seaver by She’s Alive on September 22. Court documents revealed by TMZ, filed by Danny Nozell, alleged that Seaver claimed to be an international arms dealer and used his military background to coerce Nozell into providing him with money, a claim that Seaver denies.

The ongoing legal battle saw a Tennessee judge ruling on September 23 that Seaver and his company posed a present and ongoing disruption and threat to She’s Alive. Despite the legal turmoil, Parton’s sister, Freida, emphasized on Facebook that there is no discord within the family regarding Dolly’s estate.

Seaver requested a Tennessee court to postpone a scheduled hearing on October 9, citing difficulties in securing legal representation. She’s Alive opposed this motion, alleging that Seaver attempted to avoid being served legal documents and even resorted to displaying a no-trespassing sign and barbed wire at his residence.

The next hearing for Seaver is set for October 20, with uncertainties surrounding his legal representation.
