In a shocking revelation, it has been alleged that a woman, identified as Kira Cousins, attempted to deceive others by posing a friend’s real infant as her own. This deceit unfolded as Cousins allegedly posted photos of the child on her social media, claiming the baby as her own and even giving her a different name, much to the dismay of the child’s actual mother.
The friend, referred to as Laura to safeguard her identity, expressed profound distress upon discovering the ruse, stating, “I was horrified. I felt sick. This was my child. I’ve had nothing but anxiety about my child’s safety since this has come out, knowing Kira lives so close. I don’t know what this girl is capable of.”
This disturbing incident came to light after Ms. Cousins’ elaborate hoax earlier this year, where she feigned a pregnancy on social media, garnering widespread attention. Hailing from Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, Cousins crafted a lifelike doll to mimic a real baby and utilized advanced technology to deceive her family further.
Dubbing the fabricated child as Bonnie-Leigh Joyce, Cousins went as far as fabricating the infant’s death before eventually confessing to her deception. Despite her admission, Laura, the aggrieved friend, expressed skepticism towards Cousins’ intentions, particularly her decision to profit from the scandal by collaborating with a TV production company for a documentary.
While the details of any financial gains from the documentary remain uncertain, Cousins had previously disclaimed any interest in participating in such projects. Laura reiterated her disapproval of the documentary and the potential exploitation of the situation for personal gain.
Alan Clements, the managing director of Two Rivers Media, expressed enthusiasm over the project, citing the significant global interest in the story. He emphasized the importance of portraying the involved individuals with sensitivity and respect.
As the story unfolds, the Mirror has sought Ms. Cousins’ response for further insight into the situation.
